Islamic Wealth Management

Abstract

Islamic asset management is a vehicle in providing Shari’ah-compliant investment structures through Islamic financial instruments and Islamic funds. This involves the innovative approaches taken by banks, asset managers, Shari’ah scholars, service partners and distribution partners. Many business activities such as advising retail, high net worth, corporate or sovereign investors, including equity investments, sukuk, real estate investments, takaful and alternative investment vehicles are highly handled within the Islamic framework, which is evolved around Islamic asset management. It is because, the managing asset with Shari’ah framework will certainly avoid the interest-based activities that is how one is free from Riba. This is in accordance to the principles of Halal business dealings enshrined in the Qur’an and Sunnah. Allah (swt) says to the effect:
