Measuring the Financial Performance of Islamic Banks in Oman “Comparative Study”

Abstract

The aim of this paper is to measure the financial performance of two Islamic banks in Sultanate of Oman for the period of 2013 to 2019. Different groups of ratios have been used to measure the performance and make a comparison between these two banks. Ratios have been used to measure liquidity, profitability, management capacity, and capital structure. The research goes a further step to measure the financial stability of the two IslamicĀ  banks in Sultanate of Oman Alizz and Nizwa. The findings revealed that Nizwa Islamic bank did well for the above period in term of profitability and liquidity. While Alizz Islamic bank shows a better performance in the financial stability and low risk indicators.
